Himachal reaches out to Mumbai industry

imageShimla :In a major bid to woo the industrialists and invite them to Himachal Pradesh, Himachal chief minister Virbhadra Singh held simultaneous meetings Thursday with corporate heads of Godrej, TATAs, Aptech, Mukand , Chemtrols Ski Himalayas in Mumbai.

“The TATA group of companies proposes investing in construction and real estate and extended multiple proposals,” a spokesman of the state government said.

Other big industrial houses who interacted with the chief minister and top state government officials were WeikField Foods, who sought investment opportunities in food beverages, agro based food parks and expansion of its existing project.

Stanford English Academy intends to set up the first vocational university proposing an investment of Rs 200 crore in the upper region of the hill state.

LR Active, dealing in edible oil and similar products intends opening food parks and launch environment friendly cement bags replacing polythene.

YAmerican Global Health Group, world leaders in organic Alovera and ready energy drinks, beverage, skin care products is keen to set up a Rs 100 crore unit.

Further it wants to set up RS 190 crore and Rs 127 crore in a mega food park and a papyer bag unit.

Ruchi Soya industries also came up with a proposal.
Ireland based CRH cement company proposed investing and setting up a cement plant in Himachal, the state government spokesman claimed.

A proposal was discussed for setting up film city in the state by Triumph Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA). Scaling Heights Entertainment also discussed a proposal to set up a film city in Palampur.y
