newspapersShimla : The election campaign for the Mandi Lok Sabha by election may have been boring with the lowest number of voters turning up to vote last week .

The Tribune writes , “Chief minister Virbhadra Singh has emerged stronger.”

The paper further says “The result indicates  that the BJP has lost further ground —-issues like corruption , indiscriminate sale of land and other resources to outsiders and the murky affairs of the state cricket association, which led to its defeat in the assembly polls are still alive.”

The Telegraph says ,“The mandate is a major setback to the BJP in the state ahead of the 2014 general elections.”

The Indian Express writes , “The result has come as a fresh setback for the BJP, which had lost power to the Congress in 2012 the assembly polls.”
