Himachal house adjourned sine die

Shimla : After a four day brief but stormy monsoon session the Himachal Pradesh assembly was adjourned sine die , Thursday .

It was the last session of the 11 th vidhan sabha . Polls are expected in a couple of months in the hill state .

The Opposition was naturally aggressive and the rulinng BJP was on the defensive . It even passed a no-confidence motion which was defeated .

The monsoon session passed 22 bills and took up 100 starred questions and 55 unstarred questions , 42 reports were laid on the table of the house .

Other highlights of the session were repealing of the apartment and property regulation act . The urban development minister Mohinder Singh made a statement in this regard .

The ruling BJP also passed an amendment bill which exempts religious institutions from the land celing act .
