Himachal food business operators online license by 4 Feb

Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh government has made it compulsory for all food business establishments to procure online licenses .

A spokesman of the state government said Saturday the deadline for this is 4 February 2014 .

Food operators include those running hotels, restaurants, guest houses ,canteens , grocery stores, liquor vendors .

Agriculture stores , Pansari shopkeepers PDS run fair price shops and roadside eateries among others .

Those failing to register by 4 February will be fined Rs 100 per day under the food safety standard act , the spokesman said .

All food operators have been asked to get in touch with the nearest office of the district health officer and food security officer .

Many business establishments doubt if all of them will be able register online within the next fortnight as the time given is very short .
