Shimla : Heavy rain in and around Manali has washed away stretches of the Manali-Rohtang pass road in Himachal Pradesh Saturday apart from washing away two bridges and killing one person , police said .
Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded on the busy 51 km long Manali-Rohtang pass road and it could take several days before the road and bridges are repaired by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) .
Reports said around 80 huts of the BRO workers have also been washed away in the area .
Dhundi , 20 km from Manali expereinced a cloudburst washing away long stretches of the road , along with two bridges .
The flashfloods washed away a car killing one person , police said .
The estimated loss to infrastructure is around Rs 7 crore .
The BROs have started work reparing the road and installing the bailey bridges .
