Don’t strike , appeals Himachal transport minister

Shimla  : Nervous by the proposed strike call by private transport operators in Himachal Pradesh on Aug 26 , the state transport minister G S Bali on Thursday appealed to call off the stir .

 

“The government is open to talks with transporters and willing to accept some of their genuine demands ,” Bali said .

 

The bus and taxi operators in the hill state are demanding a fare hike of 40 per cent among other demands .

 

With a fleet of 3000 buses private buses outnumber state road ways buses.

 

But private buses are mostly confined to urban and other profitable routes . While the state roads connects some of the remotest regions .
