December freeze in Himachal

Since the last couple of days the winter chill has descended in Himachal Pradesh .

The chill is extreme despite blue skies and bright sunshine .

The hill folk along with tourists can be seen enjoying basking in the sunshine , but streets in the state capital Shimla are quiet after sunset .

The state capital had a high of 15 C and a low of 5.8 C Monday .

Sub zero temperatures prevailed in the tribal belt . Keylong the headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti had a low of minus 5.1 C .

The weatherman has forecast dry cold weather for the entire week .
