Shimla civic body reserves 13 seats for women

himla : Out of the 25 Shimla municipal corporation wards , 13 have been reserved for women candidates .
This decision was taken on Monday through a special draw in the office of Shimla DC Onkar Sharma who is the district electoral officer .
For the first time seats are being reserved for women candidates in the municipal corporation . Now 12 seats will have only women candidates on the basis of rooster .
The Shimla MC polls are expected to be announced soon as the term of the corporation expires in early June .
The wards reserved for women through draw are lower bazar, summer hill , kaithu, sanjauli chowk, kasumpti, boileauganj , tutu , ram bazar, tutikandi, bharari and ruldubhatta.
According to the latest census four wards have been reserved for SC candidates .
